Sometime over the weekend Kiowa's burn site east of Kiowa was vandalized. The site is located one mile east of town and sits across from the cemetery. The burn site is a place to dump tree limbs, grass clippings, etc., but no trash.

Someone ripped the gate off and destroyed it leaving the twisted gate on the ground. A week or two before this vandalism, construction trash was disposed of at the site, which is prohibited.

Because of the vandalism the city has shut down the burn site until further notice. A criminal investigation is underway. The city council voted to offer a $1,000 reward to som...
