Connor Martin named to WCIDA board

The Woods County Industrial Development Authority nominated and approved a new member of the board to replace Bryce Benson, who resigned. The new member is Connor Martin, an employee of BancCentral.

After Martin was approved, an agenda item called for an election of officers. Rick Cunningham was retained as chairman, Connor Martin was voted vice-chairman, and Randy McMurphy was retained as secretary-treasurer.

Executive Director Sonja Williams reminded everyone of their term expirations, which always occur on Aug. 18 of each year. The dates are: Richard Ryerson, 2019; Rick Cunningham, 2020; Randy McMurphy, 2021; Stan Kline, 2022; and Connor Martin, 2023.

The annual audit by Kim Mayer, CPA, was reviewed. Chairman Cunningham called it a clean audit. The only exception was one that is repeated every year: there are not enough employees for adequate separation of financial duties.

The board agreed to pay Mayer for this year's audit and to also sign a contract using her for next year's audit.

The only outstanding bills included a pledge payment of $2,725, and the audit bill of $2,863 plus $100 for state filing.

Allen Poe reported that a firm is interested in renting the Waynoka Incubator site but needs a security fence erected. The best bid for the fence was around $22,000. When an agreement is signed with the firm, some of the fence costs may be factored into rental payments.

Sonja Williams said the next TIF District meeting will on June 25. The next Arena Authority meeting will be July 10.
