Alva man charged with assault by strangulation

 


According to police reports arguing about a move from one house to another escalated into a physical altercation that landed an Alva man in jail.

James Curtis Shramke, 39, has been charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation, a felony. This crime is punishable by not less than one year nor more than three years, or by a fine of $3,000 or both.

An affidavit in the case shows Alva Police Officer Brian File responded to a report of domestic violence at 6:12 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. Joy Doty reported her roommate, Vonda Kenmore, was choked by her boyfriend, Shramek.
