Russian energy company's manager arrested on spying charges

 


MOSCOW (AP) — A top manager of a state-controlled Russian energy company has been arrested on spying charges, a Moscow court said Tuesday.

The Lefortovo District Court announced that Karina Tsurcan has been put in custody on charges of espionage, but wouldn't give further details. The court hearing was held Friday.

Russian news agencies said that Tsurkan is a member of the management board of Inter RAO, an energy holding dealing with electric power supply and heat generation that has assets in Russia and other nations. Tsurcan headed Inter RAO's trading division.
