Kiowa Town Hall meeting June 28 on term limit July 10 election

As reported numerous times the last several months, the issue of term limits has been a hot topic in Kiowa, Kansas, regarding city council and mayor positions.

At the May meeting of Kiowa's City Council, they called for a July 10 election for the voters in Kiowa to decide whether or not they want term limits for their elected positions of mayor and city council members. The council voted 5-0 in favor of the election. At that meeting City Administrator Lou Leone said the estimated cost of a special election will be $3,500 or under.

The public is invited to a Town Hall Meeting to discuss and explain the term limit issue before the July 10 election. The meeting is Thursday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m., at Kiowa's Community Building.
