Food, friends and prizes add up to museum fundraiser

Judy DeVine walked away with two desserts. The German chocolate cake was made by Dixie Stansberry and the coconut cream pie was made by Louise Darr.

If you take good food, good company and awesome prizes you will have the makings of a great evening. That is what happened last Friday evening at the Freedom Museum's yearly fundraiser. This year marks the fifth annual dinner (i.e. salad supper) and it raises the necessary funds to keep the museum's expenses paid.

Patrons pay $10 to attend and then purchase tickets to enter a raffle for different donated items. With the price of admission one sits at a well-decorated table and enjoys a buffet of brisket, ham, potatoes, salad and dessert. There is plenty and no one leaves hungry.
