Poultry testing for the Barber County Fair

All poultry must be tested for pullorum-typhoid prior to being exhibited at the Barber County Fair. No testing will be taking place at the county fair.

Kansas Division of Animal Health (KDAH) will be conducting poultry testing at the Barber County Fairgrounds in Hardtner, Kansas, on July 11 at 10 a.m. This includes 4-H members, FFA members and open class participants. Please RSVP to the Barber County Extension Office with the number of birds you want tested by June 30. There is no cost to have the poultry tested.

By holding the testing before the fair, KDAH will have time to confirm test results and take the appropriate actions in advance if needed. The testing is required to help prevent spreading diseases.

Pigeons and waterfowl do not have to be tested.

Please contact Justin Goodno at the Barber County Extension office with additional questions or concerns at 620-886-3971 or [email protected].
