Intern from the east coast meets friendly Oklahomans

 

The Salt Plains National Wildlife refuge is home to a wide variety of local flora and fauna as well being an important stop-over for migratory birds. This summer, it is also the temporary stomping grounds for a delightful young lady from Raleigh, North Carolina. Charmaine Pedrozo was born in the Philippines but spent most of her formative years in Jacksonville, Florida. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Florida (go Gators) and is currently working on her master's degree in wildlife ecology and conservation at North Carolina State University (go Wolfpack).
