Collision results from left turn

Alva police officers investigate the scene of a collision at Flynn and 13th Street on July 9. One vehicle turning in front of another led to the wreck.

A left turn resulted in a collision of two vehicles on Monday, July 9, at 9:45 a.m. The incident happened on Flynn Street at the intersection with 13th Street.

Billy W. Farris, 80, of Alva was driving a 2010 Ford westbound on Flynn. Jimmy D. Burt, 63, of Alva was driving west on Flynn in a 2006 Chevrolet. According to the police report, Farris turned south onto 13th Street in front of Burt's vehicle. The Burt car's front right bumper struck the back right fender and tire of the Farris vehicle.

Assistant Police Chief Patrick Hawley investigated the scene....
