    The Burlington Lady Elks basketball team has eight members, including four seniors, Ashlynn Paschall, Brooke Whittet, Hallie Hamiliton and Jaedyn Williams. The other team members are Mylee Sims, Kaycee Matzke, Chloe Jantz and Tamiya Evans. This year, the team played 27 games, including tournaments and districts.     Gayle McNett, school counselor at Burlington School, received her master's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in December. As a mom of four children, going back to college was not the easiest, trying to juggle family, work and school all at once. However, she was excited and enjoyed what she was learning, which made it a lot easier. She has been at Burlington Schools for 15 years and has been teaching for 20 years. Mrs. Newman has taught Pre-K, second, third and fourth grade.     This year's robotics team of 17 students competed in Alva at the Heartland Best competition in October. The Burlington team has worked many hours since the beginning of the school year preparing for the competition, which helped them win the top three awards at the competition.
