He graduated from Amador High School. After graduation he worked in a lumber mill making plywood. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness.     It’s becoming more frequent to hear about people living into their 90s and even making it to 100 years old. So I was surprised to learn from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that life expectancy in the U.S. is declining. It is now at the lowest level since 1996. Back in 1900, U.S. life expectancy was 47 years, and by 2019 it hit 79. But the upward trend decline in 2020 when life expectancy fell to 77, and it dropped to 76.4 in 2021, the most recent tabulation by the CDC. A...

    At this week's Alfalfa County commissioner meeting, Nate Ross, Mike Roach and Garret Johnson awarded six-month bids using the process of awarding them by lowest cost, followed by availability. They also awarded the bids they opened last week for the new emergency manager's office. They chose B&B, who quoted $17,771 for construction, and AEC Services for air conditioning.
