    The descendants of Clester and Mary German try to meet annually to reconnect with one another. They were able to meet on June 30 this year. The Marjorie (German) Clepper family were in charge of the arrangements this time around.     In a special meeting Tuesday, the Alva Arena Authority approved five contracts to move the arena project forward. Most of the agreements are financial including the sale of tax free bonds.     Cherokee Police were on the lookout for a vehicle reported stolen in Garfield County after an officer contacted Alfalfa County dispatch. The officer said the victim would be coming to recover part of a vehicle in Cherokee, a recovered wheelchair lift that had been attached to the vehicle.     Ironically, Kiowa had a county-wide emergency drill late afternoon Friday. There was supposed to be black smoke billowing from a tanker. Well, black smoke really was billowing Monday afternoon, July 1, from an oilwell west of Kiowa on the south side of the highway a mile or less from US-281.     Monday, July 1, at 11:17 a.m., a call came in to the Barber County Sheriff's Office about an accident on the train track crossing on the west edge of Kiowa.     Juveniles in a reportedly stolen pickup fleeing police crashed into another vehicle ending the life of a Byron man. The medical examiner pronounced Francis L. Boyle, 85, of Byron, dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision. The crash occurred at 9:32 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at North 4th Street and E. Purdue Avenue in Enid.     Three Alfalfa County felony charges have been filed against a woman who allegedly stole silver coins from a Cherokee resident as well as using his credit cards. Ashley N. Slough, 36, of Memphis, Tennessee, has been charged with (1) burglary in the second degree, (2) grand larceny and (3) computer fraud/unlawful use of computer/system.
