Three Cherokee FFA members will be competing in the State Livestock Handling Finals held during the Tulsa Farm Show Dec. 12-13. Treavor Green, Riley Hensley and Drake Williams completed a written exam on the OSU campus on July 17 as the first step towards the state finals. A former employee of Jet State Bank has been charged with embezzlement. The charge was filed on July 26 in Alfalfa County District Court. Alfalfa County Deputy Sheriff Gary Mast was first contacted about the case on Nov. 20, 2018, by Jet State Bank President Forrest Michael. He said that an employee, Dianna S. Ralstin, had taken $600 from the bank teller cash drawer. Michael said on Nov. 14 Bank Vice President Lisa Copenhaver conducted the regular monthly audit. Nine Cherokee FFA and 4-H members competed July 16-18 at the OSU Big 3 Field Days. Each day, seven classes of animals were evaluated.
