    The reason all the utilities are specifying 25-year franchises was discussed at a council meeting in another town. One council member asked why there was an increase from 20 to 25 years and a utility person explained that the government limit of 20 years had been raised to 25 years so all companies are specifying the limit. So someone, somewhere, sometime during the past 20 years changed the "limit" to 25 years. There was no mention at that meeting about what state politician or agency had made that change.     Despite three misdemeanor charges for protective order violation and a felony charge for stalking, an Alva woman says a man has continued attempts to contact her. On June 14, Alyssa Kenyon filed a protective order against Shaun O’Brien McLelland in Woods County District Court.     The August distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from June business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from June 16 to June 30 and estimated sales from July 1 to July 15.
