Representatives of Woods County fire departments, front row, received a check for $1,500 from AFR Insurance during the "Funds for Fire Fighters – AFR Answers the Call" event May 20 in Woodward. The fire departments participating in the event included the Dacoma Volunteer Fire Department, Greenleaf Rural Fire Department, Alva Fire Department and Waynoka Fire Department. The checks were presented by Troy Brooks, Brooks Agency, Alva (second from right) and Terry Detrick, AFR president (right, front row). Representing the AFR Insurance Board of Directors (back row) were Mike Humble, Cache; Joe Ed Kinder, Frederick; Garrett Barnett, Tahlequah; Marion Schauffler, Porter; Terry Peach, Woodward; Roy Perryman, Stigler; and Kyndell Nichols, Ringwood.
