The city street department has begun work in the 400 and 500 blocks of Flynn Street in downtown Alva. The two blocks will be resurfaced with asphalt just like the adjoining 300 block. After milling the old pavement, the crew covers the surface with dirt to even it out. That will be packed down before the asphalt is applied.
