Dr. Mindi Clark, assistant professor of agriculture at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, enlisted her habitudes classes, comprised of 70 students, to make a difference to those in need this holiday season. At Northwestern-Alva, Clark's students assisted Stamp Out Starvation from Cherokee by preparing bags of meals made up of rice, soy, seasoning and vegetables; each bag can feed up to six people. Over 20,000 meals were prepared in a matter of four hours. The packaged meals will be sent to Haiti for hurricane relief as well as Africa and the Food Bank of Oklahoma.
