Computer and business students from Northwest Technology Center in Alva did well at the Business and Professionals of America (BPA) Conference earlier this week. Pictured are (from left, back row) Joe Parson (Alva High School junior who placed second in the Business Meeting Management Open Event and was in the Top 7 in the Extemporaneous Speech), Payne Louthan (Alva High School senior who placed second in Human Resource Management); (front row) Dusty Colvin (Alva High School junior who was a state qualifier in Personal Financial Management), Jaylyn Scribner (Alva High School junior who was a state qualifier in Personal Financial Management), Jazmine Vest (an adult student from Cherokee who placed in the Top 10 in Basic Office Systems and Procedures and in the Top 10 in Fundamental Word Processing), and Jade Hatch (a Cherokee High School senior who was a state qualifier in Fundamental Accounting and placed in the Top 10 in Fundamental Desktop Publishing). Parsons and Louthan both qualified to represent Oklahoma and NWTC at the National BPA Contest, which will be held later this spring. Not pictured is Lacie Swenn who was a state qualifier in Fundamental Accounting.
