Thursday morning a single-vehicle accident happened in the canyon behind the Cherokee Strip Museum. Alva Fire Department, Alve EMS, Alva PD and Woods County deputies helped pull a female from the accident. At the time of the accident, it appeared the female hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and drove the car over the curb and nose first into the canyon.
