Street construction in front of the Alva municipal building is stalled Thursday following heavy rainfall. Alva received 4.61 inches of rain as measured by the Oklahoma Mesonet over the previous seven days. Rain in the first four months of 2022 totaled 2.81 inches. In May 2021, Alva had 2.94 inches.
