Because of a city power failure that caused the regular meeting to be postponed, the Alva Recreational Authority had their August meeting on the last day of the month, the 31st. It was previously scheduled for Aug. 17.

The board is thinking of hiring an independent firm to handle concession stand operations. They spent some time discussing the wording of a concession stand operator bid specification. The main worry was the vague nature of the bid.
