The Woods County Free Fair will be held Sept. 8-10 at the Woods County Fairgrounds south of Alva. This year there will be two special poster contests. This exhibit is open to any Woods County boy or girl who will be in kindergarten through eighth-grade for the 2016-2017 school year.

Woods County Oklahoma Home and Community Education is sponsoring a healthy living-themed poster contest. The themes for youth are:

Grades K–2: “"How I Exercise,” Entry Class No. A-01

Grades 3–5: “Bicycle Safety,” Entry Class No. A-02

Grades 6–8: “Exercise is Healthy,” Entry Class No. A-03
