Oklahoma County inmate pleads guilty in cellmate's death

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP, posted Sept. 8, 2016) — An Oklahoma County jail inmate has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for choking his cellmate to death in 2014.

Prosecutors had charged 40-year-old Ragle Demond Johnson with first-degree murder in the May 21, 2014, killing of inmate Cecil Robert Arnold. Johnson pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter at a court hearing Wednesday, and he's set for sentencing on Oct. 24.

According to The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/2cvPLPw) Johnson admitted in court documents that he put Arnold in a choke hold because he was "trying to make him go to sleep."
