Inattention contributed to a collision in Alva on Tuesday, Sept. 27. According to the police report, at 12:45 p.m. Larry Gerald Ring, 53, of Alva, driving a 2007 Ford, was stopped at the traffic light on College Boulevard facing north.

Troy Adam Heinen, 19, of La Vernia, Texas, was also northbound behind Ring in a 2006 Ford pickup. Heinen told Alva Police Officer Timothy Clapp that he was answering a phone call and did not see that Ring was stopped. No injuries were reported.
