The Alva Goldbugs played the Fairview Yellowjackets on Friday, Sept. 16. The first quarter was rough for both squads as neither team was able to capitalize on opportunities. Fairview was the first to strike with a rushing touchdown on their second drive of the quarter. The Goldbugs made a huge defensive stand when Fairview's quarterback ran up the middle to the 3-yard line, only to be stopped by Alva’s Austin Shklar when he made a perfect tackle and forced a fumble.
