Bugs fall short of 5-0

On Friday, Sept. 23, the Alva High School Goldbugs suffered their first loss of the season.

“We were all expecting to win, trying to play for a district championship game. We wanted 5-0,” said junior T.W. Beiswanger.

Four quarters of fighting, two injuries, and a whole lot of pride: this face-off with the Hennessey Eagles was a brutal game.

The Eagles' first kickoff was returned for a 79-yard touchdown by junior Davion Murrow. The first quarter the Goldbugs were doing stellar until the Eagles got their second possession of the game. Quarterback Mitchell Meyer was forced to get rid of...
