On Friday, Sept. 9, the Alva Goldbugs traveled to Oklahoma Bible Academy (OBA) to play their first away game of the season. The game started out slow, with the Goldbugs putting the first points on the scoreboard around the midway point of the first quarter, with a rushing touchdown by Mitchell Meyer. The Goldbugs missed the ensuing two-point conversion attempt making the score 6-0. The Trojans responded by scoring a minute later, and successfully kicking the point after, putting OBA in the lead 6-7, at the end of the first quarter.
