The Alva Police Department has taken recent reports of vandalism to vehicles, break-ins of vehicles and thefts.

On Sept. 28 Caisha Boedeker who lives in the 1400 block of Noble reported having approximately $600 stolen from her 2014 Ford pickup. She said it occurred between the hours of 2:30 and 4:30 a.m. that morning.

On Sept. 28 Gregory Allen of Glenpool reported damage to two vehicles parked in the 900 block of Locust. The damage occurred between 8:30 p.m. the night before and 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 28. The officer saw slash marks on the passenger side tires of a Ford Ranger pickup. The front driver’s side tire of a Buick was flat, but no slash marks were seen.

On Sept. 30 Leonard N. Reed of Alva reported the theft of a Hillary Clinton sign from his yard in the 700 block of Locust. The sign was valued at $20.

On Sept. 30 Officer Keith Dale spoke to Detective Don Gray with the Bay St. Louis (Mississippi) Police Department, who said Kristopher Karl Dahn had made a report of someone forging checks on his account. Detective Gray did not have copies of the financial reports yet but said he would provide them when available. One of the checks had a State of Texas driver’s license number on it that checked back to Ralph Field Davis.

Officer Dale spoke to Dahn who said he was in Alva July 12-13 for a civil court appearance in Alfalfa County. He said he stayed with his niece in the 1000 block of Ninth Street in Alva. He recently received his bank account information, which showed two checks written on his account, one to Gambino’s and the other to Walmart in Alva. He said he thought he had misplaced the checkbook but now believes it was stolen from his vehicle while he was at his niece’s residence.

On Oct. 5 Jayce Gragert of Alva reported vandalism to his vehicle while it was parked in the alley behind his resident in the 500 block of Center Street. He said it happened between 7 p.m. Oct. 4 and 7 a.m. Oct. 5. Gragert said the vehicle was unlocked with the key inside. When he went out to the vehicle in the morning, he noticed the rearview mirror and front windshield were cracked. The vehicle had been moved and rummaged through. He did not find anything missing. He later received an estimate of $391.10 to fix the damage at a body shop.
