New city council member to be appointed

A new city council member and a safety grant are on the agenda of the Alva City Council Monday. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall.
Mayor Kelly Parker will be seeking council approval for Brandon Sherman as the new council member for Ward 2 Seat 2. That seat was vacated by Joey Melton who moved out Ward 2. Once he is officially approved, Sherman will be sworn into office.
