Cancer awareness

Kandee Almgrens' view on Cancer Week.

Alva High School supported cancer survivors the week of Oct. 2 – 8. The students were encouraged to show support for cancer survivors by wearing different colors that represent different types of cancer. Monday was purple for pancreatic cancer, Tuesday was grey for brain cancer, Wednesday was orange for leukemia, Thursday was black for melanoma, and Friday was pink for breast cancer. This was a great way to show support and let people know they aren't alone in their battles.

The high school kids who chose to participate in the event were encouraged to take a group picture in the student lounge...
