'Diviners' headed to State

On Friday, Oct. 7, the Alva High School one-act crew headed to Fairview to compete in Regionals. After going slightly over time at the one-act festival they had attended the week before, the team worked together throughout the week to fix this issue and perfect the show.

When asked to summarize the plot of the play, Jake Ervin, who plays the main character Buddy Layman, said, "The storyline of the play mainly is about a boy named Buddy Layman, who I play in the play, and a preacher named C.C. Showers, played by Aaron (Erickson). Buddy Layman's mom died in the river, and he also almost drowned...
