Lady Bison Volleyball Sweeps Their Way into First Place

SEARCY - The Harding volleyball team swept Oklahoma Baptist 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-16) on Saturday to move into a three-way tie with Oklahoma Baptist and Ouachita for first place in the GAC standings.

RECORDS

Harding improves to 17-6 overall and 8-3 in the GAC. Oklahoma Baptist falls to 14-11 overall and 8-3 in the GAC. The series between the two teams is tied at one.

SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS

Harding took a 16-6 lead in the first set as it forced six Oklahoma Baptist attack errors. Harding got a kill by Sara Smith and forced an attack error to take the first set 25-11. Harding had 10 kills, hit .250 with one attack error.

SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS

With the second set tied at six, Harding went on a 7-3 run to take a 13-9 lead. After two Oklahoma Baptist points, Harding went on a 12-3 run to win the set 25-14. Harding won the last six points in the set and had 15 kills and hit .367.

SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS

After giving up the first three points to Oklahoma Baptist, Harding battled back to take a 10-7 lead on six kills. Oklahoma Baptist scored the next four points to lead 11-10. Harding took over as it went on a 15-5 run to take the set 25-16. Harding had 10 kills during the run and had 17 kills in the set.

TEAM STAT

It was Harding's sixth straight win at home.

Harding had 42 kills, nine attack errors and hit .327.

Harding's defense held Oklahoma Baptist to 22 kills and forced 21 attack errors as Oklahoma Baptist hit .010.

Harding had 11 team blocks and 51 digs.

UP NEXT

Harding will continue GAC action on Thursday when it hosts Ouachita at 6 p.m., at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
