Burlington School participated in National Red Ribbon Week on Oct. 24 – Oct. 28. Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in the United States.
Students showed support by dressing up all week. Monday was "I have the power to be drug free" where the students dressed up as either a character from Star Wars or a super hero.
Tuesday was "Smarties choose to be drug free!" where they dressed in their nerdiest outfit.
Wednesday was "United We Stand Against Bullying and Drugs" where students dressed in red, white and blue.
Thursday students wore crazy socks to "Sock-it to Drugs" and Friday was "Say Boo to Drugs" when students wore their Halloween costumes.
Burlington School also had a door decorating competition. The winners of pre-K through second grade were kindergarten in first place, and first grade in second place. Winners of third through sixth grade were fifth grade in first place and third grade in second place. Winners of seventh through ninth grade were seventh grade in first place, and eighth grade in second place. Burlington seniors placed first in the 10th through 12th door decorations competition and sophomores got second.
