Freedom woman charged with felony drug sale

A Freedom woman has been charged with a drug felony after a monitored drug buy set up in Alva. Miranda Jo Gilliland, 34, of Freedom has been charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 2,000 feet of a park, school or minor under 12. The crime is punishable by imprisonment for four years to life and a fine of up to $40,000.
According to court records, on July 29 Woods County Undersheriff Keith Dale spoke to a confidential informant (CI) who had been in contact with Gilliland by calling her cellphone about purchasing narcotics.
