On Thursday, Nov. 10, Whitney Randall, a senior at Alva High School (AHS), signed with Fort Hays State University, in Hays, Kansas, to play basketball. Whitney has played basketball since she was in first grade. She is a guard, and plans to play basketball through all four years of college.

"I chose to play for Fort Hays because I loved my visit, the school and the girls. Everyone looked like they enjoyed being there, and it made me want to be a part of the team," Randall said. The factors in her decision to go to Fort Hays were how close she would be to home, how well she fit in with the team, and the team's success.

Whitney has gotten to practice and play a pickup game with her future Tiger teammates and coaches, and she has watched them play at NWOSU. "I was considering Fort Hays since they contacted me. It was about a month before I officially decided," Randall said.

Whitney's favorite part about basketball is the competition and her pure love for the game. "My biggest responsibilities in basketball are trying to lead our team to be the best we can and to be better people on and off the court," Randall remarked.
