Thursday evening Cleo, Brian, and I went out to the Cedar Grove Church for a great meal. They were honoring law enforcement officers this year. Several were in attendance for mighty good food and fellowship. This is the first time I had been to the new church building; it is very nice. Thank you to all that furnished food and God be with our lawmen and keep them safe.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving this year. Travel carefully and enjoy all the food and fellowships you can. My cousin Kenny Cole passed away recently. He was the city marshal/chief of police when I was growing up. Whenever us kids got into trouble, the guys always made sure they didn't miss out on mentioning I was with them. They thought the chief might go easy on them if his cousin was involved. If it ever made any difference, I never noticed it.

My first memory of Kenny was at some kind of a family gathering. Mom told me to go wash my face. I made half an effort and didn't do a very good job. Kenny grabbed a wash cloth, and proceeded to take the dirt and top three layers of skin off. That day I had a clean face for a little while. From then on when I got around Kenny, I either gave him a wide berth or had a clean face.

Artie Ware also passed away recently. He was the Rambler dealer when I was a kid. His dealership was where Reiman Motors is today. He was the service manager at Washburn Motor Company when I worked there in the 70s and helped get me his job when he left. All around good guy.

We have been overrun with what looked like ladybugs biting us at the salvage. Friend, and Fair Street University bug specialist Ed told me Asian beetles not the ladybugs were the biters. They look a lot alike, so I asked how to tell them apart. He explained the Asian beetles have slanty eyes!

On Facebook the other day was a Photoshopped picture of three former first ladies and Ivana Trump. The big difference was Mrs Trump was unclothed. It was not a closeup, so there wasn't much to see. It said something about the class of the former first ladies. With her clothes on I think Ivana will have enough class for a first lady. I just hope Bill didn't see the picture or he will be at the White House every day!

In the weird/funny stuff category, we actually had an X-rated movie lady run for vice president. In 2004 Marilyn Chambers ran on the Personal Choice Party (Libertarian) ticket for vice president. She got 946 votes. I heard a rumor that Bill Clinton voted 46 times. In 2008 she was a write-in candidate for vice president, and was less popular than before, so it was back to the movies, I guess.

Before the election several “Hollywood idiots” stated that they would leave the country if Trump got elected. I see where several have recanted. They are still idiots to me but American idiots. The only one I probably would put money down on his ticket to leave is Al Sharpton. He could move to some other country and up the IQ of both countries.

An older woman goes into the post office to buy some stamps for her Christmas cards.

“What denomination?” the clerk asked.

The woman replied, “Oh, good heavens, I can't believe it's come to this! Well, give me 50 Baptist and 50 Catholic.”
