Mother charged with child neglect, meth possession

Police say they found a mother with her 1-year-old in a local motel room where they also found meth. According to court records, on Tuesday, Nov. 15, about 5:20 p.m. Alva Police Officer Jade Cooper was asked by Assistant Police Chief Ben Orcutt to conduct a welfare check on Savannah Johnson and her 1-year-old son. Woods County Undersheriff Keith Dale and Officer Cooper went to the motel where Johnson was staying and knocked on the room door. The door was answered by a man later identified as Taylor Seay.
