Fahey and Wright named November Athletes of the Month

Northwestern's Athletic Department has announced Maurice Wright Jr. and Natalie Fahey as the Blue Sky Media Athletes of Month recipients.
Both Wright and Fahey received the nominations after impressing in the final games of their respective sports' seasons. Wright is a freshman defensive back that finished third in the Great American Conference in total tackles throughout the season. Fahey is a senior middle blocker that led the team in multiple categories this season including kills at 207 as well as kills per set at 2.23.
Wright, a native of Luther, was an instrumental part on the defensive side of the football for the Rangers, averaging 11.5 tackles a game in the final three games of the season. His best performance came against conference champion Harding, where he totaled 12 tackles, one of them being for a loss. Wright also forced a fumble in the Arkansas Tech game, where the Rangers' defense almost led the Rangers to a late-game comeback in Russellville. Wright totaled 108 total tackles on the season, best among freshman in the GAC.
Fahey, a San Jose, California, native, finished off her career as a Ranger in style, totaling 35 kills in the final three games. She averaged a team-leading attack percentage of .421 during those games. Fahey's best performance came against rival Southwestern in the final game of the season where she totaled 12 kills and hit .545 during the match. That mark of .545 was Fahey's second best attacking percentage in a match this season. On the defensive side of the ball Fahey averaged three blocks a set to protect the Ranger's side of the court.
