Alva Schools staff to receive $1,350 stipend

The Alva Board of Education voted Monday night to award a $1,350 stipend to all certified and non-certified employees as of Dec. 5 who have earned at least 15 professional development points by Oct. 31. By basing the stipend on professional development points, the board keeps the auditor happy and the board gets to reward employees who did not receive state pay raises because of the budget crisis.
