The Alva Fire Department quenched a fire Friday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. about four miles south and one mile west of the Alva airport. The location was near the intersection of Grady Road and County Road 430. The destroyed truck was owned by Danpul Trucking LLC of Alva. The state forestry service listed Oklahoma as under a red flag warning for fire danger Friday due to warmer temperatures, winds in excess of 30 mph and lower relative humidity.
