Some Woods County precincts opt to close
January 5, 2017
Woods County Election Board Secretary Sandra Koehn announced today that for the annual school election scheduled for Feb. 14, several precincts have opted to close.
The Waynoka Public School has opted to close:
Precinct 760001 in Woods County
Precinct 760003 in Woods County
Precinct 760008 in Woods County
Precinct 470010 in Major County
Precinct 470022 in Major County
Precinct 770105 in Woodward County
Precinct 770106 in Woodward County
The Freedom School District has opted to close:
Precinct 760002 in Woods County
Precinct 300303 in Harper County
State law allows a school district to close a precinct polling place for an election if the entire precinct is not contained within the district's boundaries and if no one lives in the part of the precinct that is inside the district. Closing this polling place for this election reduces the overall cost of the election for the district.
Any registered voter in Precinct 760001 and 760003 in Woods County or Precinct 4700022 in Major County who believes that he or she may reside in the Waynoka boundaries or who wants additional information is urged to contact the County Election Board office immediately.
If your precinct has been closed you will be sent an application for absentee ballots that may be filled out and returned or you can vote at the county election board office on Thursday, Feb. 9, or Friday, Feb. 10, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
