Alva school board votes to proceed with architect's plans

Architect Roy Easley addresses the Alva School Board after displaying architectural plans.

Enid architect Roy D. Easley spent about a half-hour explaining to the Alva School Board the plans and specifications to complete the sports practice building complex. He said invitations to bid will be published in a legal notice in the Friday, Jan. 13, Alva Review-Courier. Bids will be opened on Feb. 2 and could be approved at the regular Feb. 6 board meeting about a week later.

Easley said he speculates the likely cost will come in around $400,000 to $450,000. The board spent quite a bit of time quizzing Easley on ways to reduce cost. He explained his firm has designed a mid-priced project:...
