On Jan. 20 every four years we witness a presidential inauguration in this country. Today is, of course, inauguration day.

Donald John Trump is to be sworn in at noon Eastern Standard Time as the nation’s 45th president and Michael Richard Pence will become our vice-president.

Jan. 20 has not always been inauguration day in the United States. For years, March 4 held that distinction. The last time a president was sworn in on March 4 was 1933 when Franklin D. Roosevelt took the oath of office.
