The Alva High School Goldbugs had no trouble getting the win on Tuesday night as they hosted the Newkirk Tigers for homecoming, jumping out to the early lead and never relinquishing.
As the Goldbugs tipped the game off with an 8-0 run, Alva held the Tigers to just six points as they led Newkirk 21-6 going into the second. Alva was led by Brooks Hadwiger in that first eight minutes as he drained three of three from beyond the arc to put nine points on the board.
Alva had no trouble controlling the pace for the rest of the night as they led the Tigers going into the second half 38-16.
