Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Miller accepts the firefighter of the year award from Mayor Kelly Parker during the Chamber Gala Monday. Miller is a fourth-generation firefighter, starting as a police officer in 2001. He joined the fire department in 2005 and is also Alva's first fire marshal.
