This eighth grader serves treats to the younger student audience during Alva Middle School's Taste a Book event on Friday, Jan. 27.
Alva Middle School (AMS) was a bustle of commotion last Friday, Jan. 27, due to a project called Taste a Book, created by Cindi Leiter, an eighth-grade teacher at AMS. Leiter had seen versions of the project implemented during her teaching career, so she decided to bring the project to AMS. Fellow teachers helped make the project fit AMS, including Tanya Phillips, who made a special effort to help.
"This was a way to engage the whole school in a project while giving the eighth graders an opportunity to grow as leaders and work together," Phillips said.
