SNU falls twice at Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. — Southern Nazarene dropped its second straight one-run game in a 5-4 loss at Cameron in the first game of a doubleheader before falling 14-3 in the second game.
Mike Descisciolo went 3-for-6 on the day with three RBIs and two runs scored and notched his first home run of the year for the Crimson Storm (0-4)
In the opener, Cameron took the first lead of the day with one in the bottom of the second, but the Storm answered in the top half of the third. Josh Flowers drove in the run on a bunt single to score Garrett Perez. The Aggies added two more in the bottom half of the inning to lead 3-1, but SNU answered again in the top of the fourth with a three-run bomb by Descisciolo with two outs. That put the Storm up 4-3, but Cameron scored one in the bottom of the fourth to tie it and tacked on the winning run in the sixth.
Perez led the way as he went 2-for-2 with a run scored. Seven different players for SNU recorded hits. Reagan Yates (0-1) took the loss after giving up one run on one hit in an inning of relief. Cody Tolbert got the start and gave up four runs on seven hits in five innings as he struck out four.
In the nightcap, Cameron jumped out to a 10-0 lead with one in the third and erupted for nine in the bottom of the fourth. SNU got on the board in the top of the fifth on a Flowers sacrifice fly to right field, but the Aggies responded in the bottom half of the inning with one to take an 11-1 lead.
SNU cut it to 11-3 in the top sixth when Preston Whitmill hit a two-run single to center to score Descisciolo and Dillon Feland. The Aggies though put it away in the bottom of the sixth with three more to make it 14-3 and held the Storm scoreless in the seventh for the win.
Descisciolo went 2-for-3 with a run scored as five players combined for six hits. Jefferson Harris (0-1) took the loss after giving up four runs on six hits in 3.1 innings of work.
