Storm Drops Season Opener at TAMIU

LAREDO, Texas – Southeastern outhit Texas A&M-International, but stranded 14 runners and dropped a 6-4 decision in the season opener on Friday afternoon in Laredo, Texas.

The Savage Storm will be back in action at 1 p.m. for a double-header with the Dustdevils at Uni-Trade Stadium in Laredo.

Brett Akins and Micah Simmer each turned in two hit outings, while six others had a hit each as SE picked up 10 as a team.

Jett Swigart drove in a pair of runs out of the leadoff spot to lead the Storm, while Akins added an RBI as well.

Akins and Simmer each stole a base is well.
