Accelerated Reader Swim Party

Burlington students Patience Thorlton, Carleigh Hill, Trinity Wade, Morgan Matzke and Kayli Pruett enjoy a party at the pool as a reward for their reading efforts.

Each semester, the Burlington Elementary students are rewarded for their progress in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. Last semester students were encouraged to reach the goal of 50 AR points in order to get the opportunity to go swimming. The swimming party was held Friday, Jan. 27, at the J.R. Holder Wellness Center in the indoor swimming facility. After swimming, students visited Coronado Cafeteria where they enjoyed snacks and drinks provided by the AR program with the help of Chartwell's Food service on campus.
