Avard Regional Rail Authority meets

The Avard Rail Authority spent an hour in executive session discussing ideas on how to further the rail park and devise methods to attract other companies to locate or expand in Woods county.

A motion made after the executive session was to create a committee to work with Martin-Marietta to see what can be done to increase rail business. The traffic to the rail park has fallen since the oil boom decline. County Commissioner Randy McMurphy said he has been having cordial communications also with Burlington Northern Railway.
